Over those years, Švyturys has grown from a small brewery to the largest beer company in Lithuania, which has its beer Švyturys Ekstra recognised by the vast majority of consumers as Lithuania’s best (an AC Nielsen survey), and its brand ranking among the top four strongest brands in the country (TNS Gallup).
For many years, the objective of Švyturys-Utenos Alus has been to preserve the status of Lithuania‘s best beer company. A number of achievements prove that Švyturys-Utenos Alus successfully stays the course to attain the goal. The company is unanimously recognised the leading producer and dealer of beer and long and soft drinks in Lithuania.
The total sales in 2009 were reached 170,5 mln. litres of drinks, 125 mln. litres whereof beer sales.
Švyturys-Utenos Alus today is the leader of the Lithuanian market.

The famous beer maker Carlsberg has been a shareholder of Švyturys-Utenos Alus since 1999. In 2008 Švyturys-Utenos Alus became a full-fledged member of the North European region of Carlsberg Breweries.
Švyturys-Utenos Alus follows the best practices of its shareholder. The company‘s quality and production departments are fully integrated in Carlsberg’s quality system that enjoys worldwide renown.
In 2000 Carlsberg granted the license to Švyturys brewery to brew and bottle Carlsberg beer. It was the first license to produce the world-famous beer in Lithuanian breweries.
The top quality of the product, its exceptional taste and wide opportunities of marketing presentation open the road for the exports of beer Švyturys and Utena across the whole world. Today beer Švyturys and Utena can be found on the markets of 25 countries worldwide from the far-away Australia, Canada, the US and Russia to the neighbouring European countries like Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Spain, Italy, France, Bulgaria, Germany, the Netherlands and Cyprus as well as Latvia, Estonia, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Israel, Brasil, South Korea not to mention Ireland and Great Britain that have become very fond of Švyturys and have this beer on sale both bottled and on tap.
The most popular brands for export is Švyturys EKSTRA, Švyturys EKSTRA DRAUGHT, Švyturys BALTAS, Švyturys BALTIJOS, Utenos UTENOS, and Utenos PORTERIS. A new product for export, cider KISS, is also becoming increasingly popular.
